BEST FRIENDEMIES

I went to visit my sister Heather on my day off. I love to visit my nieces and nephew. They are a funny bunch of children. I didn't realize how much one is like me until tonight. I propose that she may have even learned some of her moves from me. I took some photos for evidence.

Gracie, The Loving

Ellie, The Pest

This is where the "playing" begins. Although Ellie lacks size, she is the one that controls the momentum of the brawl. She uses agility and perseverance in battle.

When choking doesn't work the wrestling begins

Wrestling didn't work. Back to choking, but this time a new style.

Maybe if she tackles her?

Resorting to the dirty trick of biting.

GAME OVER

Although Gracie is much bigger, and probably stronger by a large margin, she allows Ellie to do things to her. I think that this is not because Gracie cannot fend for herself, but that she will allow Ellie to hurt her rather than causing Ellie any pain. Family, Friends, and especially Howard (Dad), please comment about the validity of my views about Ellie and myself being somewhat similar. I will award one point for the most humorous naming of the moves Ellie used. This contest ends on March 7th, 2009. Good luck.

MY CITATION

Today as I rode my skateboard across the street (the very same street shown on the left side of this photo) I saw a group of police giving citations for not using the crosswalk. I was not about to get one as well, so I crossed the street again without using the crosswalk. I watched the police as I sped away on my skateboard, and they must have decided that to give chase was not worth it. Two were getting information from people, and the other was just looking around. I hurried to my car, watching for anyone that could be following me in the pursuit of giving me a ticket, but when there were no officers after me I quickly got in my car and departed posthaste. I hope you were all tricked by my title.

TRIPOD FTW!!!

View these as large as you can. They should be crystal clear.

HIPSTER SISTER

I was checking me email, and shortly after logging in I realized that hotmail had updated its look. The new and improved hotmail is giving me information about people that I never asked for. This is great because now the opportunity cost that had been previously a high burden, causing me not to creep on people's lives, has been cast away. It is so easy to get information about people in modern days it is astonishing to me. I have digressed like I so often do. The point to this is that as I had become a captive audience to the information of my email contacts lives, I saw one that I found funny. I don't think the information was intended to be humorous, although we can probably all agree that it is very possible for this person to be funny, I argue that it was a case of finger omission. I belive it could also be argued that it was intentional, and that it is just how she says the name of her occupation. Whatever the case, I find it confusing. It could just be mocking the "Wendys" radio adds, but we will never know for sure.

INTERESTING?

Keep it small for best results.

This is a photo I edited in photoshop. I think someone should download this, blow it up and put it on a wall.

THORN IN MY SIDE

I love learning, but I don't necessarily love taking tests and writing papers. I understand that testing and papers are often a necessary tool for learning. I don't have to like them though. Today after writing some words about the differences of colonial United States and Cuba, feeling a bit overwhelmed with boredom, decided to go out into the [not so] fresh air. My main objective was to get out of the house to break up the monotony of my day, but with a secondary objective of more homework. This is not the usual mentally draining variety, rather it is the best kind. I rode TRAX downtown to get some photos for an assignment. They are for an assignment so they are incredibly interesting but I added a few to let you see what I did.

I find that the word nor is a nice touch to the sign above. It will certainly stop me.

FLICKR

I have a Flickr account now for my photos. You can view them HERE. I hope that you like them. I will be placing many more photos on that zone for people rather than spending the time to put them on my blog. It was very easy for Jace to convince me to get an account since I really love to share my photography, no matter the quality of the photographs.

BACON ANYONE?

I have been very busy with my new job. The shifts here are longer than i am used to for managers, and much shorter for service staff. They only on a very rare occasion do a double shift. In Cedar City the staff would do doubles whenever there is a chance for it. I have digressed. Getting back to the point, I took my camera to work to get some photos for an assignment and thought that I would get some photos of the theatre so that anyone interested could see it.

This is the bacon tile. It is in fact not bacon at all, just a strange coloration of the tile. If you don't think it looks like bacon you are wrong.

This is the lobby and the moving staircase. The elevator is over by the bathrooms. It was boring for a photo, but it is directly to the left of me when I took the photo at the bottom of the stairs.

There it is. An update of my job.

PHOTOGRAPHY

I have a new love for photography. I really enjoy going to various areas of the city and taking photos. Last week I went downtown at night with some friends to snap a few photos. This is the best that were taken as far as I am concerned. Feel free to say what you think is the best one [or worst if you must hate one].

Today in my photography class I learned about aperture. These are some samples of the way photos can change with aperture changes.

This is a small aperture. The number on my camera says F29. Apparently the larger the number the smaller the hole is for the shutter. With a small aperture the focal area is vast.

This is a large aperture photo [shown on my camera as F4.5]. With the large aperture the subject really jumps out more with the background blurred.

SUCCESS

Once again I will be allowing my weekends and holidays to be controlled by work. Although I don't enjoy having to work every weekend, it is what it is. When you work at a theatre it is a small price to pay. I have a job now, so you can stop your worries now Janet.
